Debby's Work Gallery:

Pied-à-Terre PanoramaI recently worked with a retired client who bought a downtown apartment that felt dark and outdated. She wanted a cozy recliner to watch TV, space to host family, an updated kitchen, and a small office. I refreshed the kitchen by painting the cabinets and updating the countertops and hardware, keeping the existing appliances. Wainscoting and crown molding added character throughout the space, and light, scaled furniture kept the apartment open and airy.
Modern RootsBringing this home into the 21st century meant gutting the kitchen and reworking the floor plan. I created a spacious entry and mudroom, relocated a poorly placed bathroom, and designed a kitchen that’s both timeless and highly functional. With new cabinetry, appliances, and a family room that flows seamlessly from the kitchen, the space now works beautifully—whether the family is entertaining, celebrating holidays, or just enjoying quiet time together.
Hearth & SoulThis project came with several design challenges, especially in the kitchen and family room, but the family was ready for a full transformation. The new kitchen now includes a large refrigerator, wine fridge, and a spacious island—key priorities for the client. The long, narrow family room lacked purpose, so we worked with the architect and builder to bump out the space and create a cozy breakfast nook. We also relocated the door to better center the furniture, making the room more functional for everyday living and entertaining. To round out the project, we refreshed the powder room and added custom mudroom cabinetry for better storage and organization.
The Bright SideThis home had a great layout but needed a modern refresh. The kitchen cabinets were solid, so instead of replacing them, I painted them white and updated the countertops, hardware, backsplash, and island shape to eliminate the dated cherry finish and granite. New lighting instantly made the space feel more current. In the dining room, I added navy grasscloth wallpaper, a playful chandelier, and a colorful rug to bring in both warmth and personality. We finished the project by giving the powder room a clean, sophisticated update with a fresh, timeless look.
Transitional TidesThis busy family of five needed a more functional kitchen and better flow to the backyard and pool. I reorganized the layout to create a mudroom with ample storage for snacks and pool towels, replacing the old breakfast nook with a new back door for easier outdoor access. We also converted the pantry into a powder room to keep wet feet and swimsuits contained, making the home more practical and family-friendly.
